In the ultra-conservative state of Saudi Arabia, women are exposed to a series of harsh restrictions. This includes the requirements that they fully cover their bodies and are accompanied by a male guardian when travelling.
It is also illegal for them to drive. Saudi Arabia is the only country in the world with such a law. However, this Saturday there were mass protests by women who challenged the law and openly drove in public.
Three Saudis, Musician Alaa Wardi, stand-up comedian Fahad Albutairi, and comedian Hisham Fageeh responded to the ongoing battle (and the absurdity of the law) with this satirical adaption of Bob Marley’s “No Woman, No Cry,”.
